I left Fairmont early this morning and shot up I-79 to Erie and across I-90 and I-86 to home. I arrived around 1:15 this afternoon and Pat and I headed straight to Mindy's for lunch...GREAT!!
I had a great trip, even with a few reliability issues. Total miles covered were 9,128 over 39 days. I have a little game I've been playing for the last several years...I'm trying to ride the bike through all the lower 49 states, and this trip, I picked up six new states...Iowa, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Kentucky, giving me a total of 47 of the possible 49 continental states. The remaining two states are South Carolina and Delaware, so I'll have to figure out how to pick those two up.
I hope you've enjoyed the narrative and the pictures. Most likely, I won't be taking a big trip next summer, but my brother Rick is planning to retire in 2017 and I promised we'd go to Alaska then.
