Green River, Utah to Kemmerer, Wyoming

I headed out of Green River this morning, heading north on US191 toward Green River, Wyoming.  Temperatures all day were in the high 50's and it rained most of the time, fortunately not very hard, but steady.  I didn't get a lot of pictures, but here are a few I did get.

This was taken about 20 miles north of Green River (UT) and you can see the land is pretty flat here with high buttes and mesas scattered along the way:

We did travel through the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and while it was pretty, it sure paled compared to Canyonlands yesterday.  I did stop to take a couple pics from the side of the road in between rain showers, but I'm afraid the lighting conditions aren't real good:

The first picture was actually taken near a phosphate mine that is in Flaming Gorge.  I saw a light of trucks hauling two fully-enclosed bulk trailers, so I guess they're hauling mined phosphate.  Good thing the mining companies all promise to restore the strip mines to their former beauty!

Kind of an uneventful day today without a lot of pictures.  Tomorrow should be better, no rain but still chilly.  I'll be heading up north of here through Jackson, Wyoming, through Yellowstone, and on down to Idaho Falls, Idaho for the night.

Miles today:  379
Total: 3,947
